Hell, when I was in my late teens early twenties I was almost homeless myself. Not that I'm any great intellect, but it can happen to almost any of us.

(12,532 posts)That capitalism holds over our heads from the day we are born, until the day we die. Unless we are lucky and are born to a family that gives us some leftover capital from a dead relative.
It's not a matter of intellect. The stupidest person I know is a multimillionaire. The filthy rich are some of the stupidest people in the world and they usually are very cruel.

(555 posts)I enjoy laughing at these dumbasses as much as the next guy, but at the same time did you see how few people comprised this "demonstration'? I fear we are giving the nutters too much coverage and making their resistance to common sense public health measures look more popular than they really are.

(53,061 posts)getting Covid 19 at a much lower rate than non homeless.
They also found that during the 1919 pandemic sailors housed outside in the open air had a higher recovery than those inside.
It was thought that homeless folks had better levels of Vitamin D and the air they breathed wasn't accumulating clouds of the virus.

(3,531 posts)Higher vitamin D boosts the immune system (among other things), and open air doesn't hold the virus like closed air systems in modern, energy efficient buildings (or even buildings back in the 1910s, closed up for the winters when the flu would have been rampant).

(3,531 posts)That woman got roasted. Critical thinking skills aren't ones that have been particularly mastered by the anti-vaxx/ReichWingnut crowd. More like, they have assiduously avoided critical thinking like most people try to avoid the plague.
