Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with the perfect response to the vaccine-hesitant
As a Warriors fan, I should hate all Lakers, but I love Kareem. Such a smart guy.

6. Le Bron Deserves Criticism for His Approval of Draymond's Comment. I Expected Better From Him.
After Golden State Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins received criticism for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine for personal reasons, his teammate Draymond Green said the public needs to “honor” that decision: “There is something to be said for people’s concerns about something that’s being pressed so hard,” he stated. “Why are you pressing this so hard? You have to honor people’s feelings and their own personal beliefs.” To which LeBron responded that he “couldn’t have said it better myself.” Actually, it couldn’t have been said worse. On the surface, it appears that Draymond and LeBron are arguing for the American ideal of individual freedom of choice. But they offer no arguments in support of it, nor do they define the limits of when one person’s choice is harmful to the community. They are merely shouting, “I’m for freedom.” We’re all for freedom, but not at the expense of others or if it damages the country. That’s why we mandate seat belts, motorcycle helmets, car insurance, and education for our children". |

9. No one forced Wiggins to get the vaccine.
Financial incentive? Sure. But the choice was his to make freely. Does he or any other highly paid athlete realize many regular workers had to make the same choice? Get the vaccine or lose your job. And for many that would be financially devastating. A lot more devastating than it would be for Wiggins, who I presume is already a millionaire many times over.

Antivaccine people are like drunk drivers, they will eventually kill someone. (Paraphrasing)

10. I think Kareem is the greatest...
but my dad says he wouldn't work hard enough on defense. And that lots of times, he didn't even run down court. And that he didn't really try... except during the playoffs.

18. Your dad and others who say that are wrong. I played against Kareem
and I guarantee you he worked hard. No NBA player can go all out for 82 games.
And often, with Lakers, after the outlet pass, they were down shooting a layup before Kareem go to halfcourt. |

11. Thank you for your leadership.
I saw him as Lew Alcindor playing for UCLA in Gill Coliseum (Corvallis, Oregon). He was a magical force on the floor.
I also got to see him matched up later against a healthy Bill Walton in the NBA. They fought each other HARD! We need those with respect and following to be role models. We CAN end this pandemic. Taking the jab is a small sacrifice for protection of the community. |

16. Kareem has real class. He was an assistant coach on an Apache high school staff:

Also the all-time leading scorer in the NBA. I'm a Nuggets fan--go figure.... |

17. Kareem is the man, Lebron and Draymond, not so much.
Lebron lost a lot of fans when he tweeted about Draymond and 'personal decisions' regarding the vaccine.
I read through hundreds of the comments, at least 90% expressing disbelief that he was that wrong headed on the vaccine issue. |

22. Kareem is such a decent human being.
His agent should book him on every news/talk show so he can say what he stated about vaccines to everyone that is watching, day or night. He is still one of the most respected athletes ever and I think he could go much farther than most with his reasoning on getting vaccinated.
