LA Sheriff Villanueva says that he will not enforce a vaccine mandate, saying employees are willing to get fired over it. "I don't want to be in a position to lose 5, 10% of my workforce overnight on a vaccine mandate."

(150,876 posts)He could be recalled, but that's unlikely. He could also be voted out in the next election. But, nobody can fire him.

(76,696 posts)I'm sure that having other vaccines are part of the requirements to be employed in the
L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. just like all public school students in the state of California.
Now they don't have to get the vaccine but they don't have a right to be an employee
of the sheriff's dept.. We are in a battle here of right (science) vs wrong (facebook info).

(82,849 posts)But clearly the Sheriff isn't willing to stand up to the knuckleheads, and would rather endanger everyone's health. That's some real leadership there, that is. I'd like to play poker against the Sheriff since he's this easily bluffed. He go home on the bus in his shorts.
