I don't know how long we can survive under minority rule

Between gerrymandering and the consequence of decades of creating states to support slavery, I'm not sure how much longer this country can continue with such minority rule as we are enduring. 50% of the population is controlled in the senate by 30% of the population, and with the filibuster, it gives them an extremely out sized influence over the whole country, not to mention the Electoral College.

Joe Machin should not have more influence than Joe Biden.

which is why we need to get rid of the filibuster, a vestige of enslavement created to help slaveholding states.

Or at least all the other Democratic Senators. I think you'll find more than two in opposition.

he's listening as far as carve-outs go. I have a feeling you agree with we though. We've won the popular vote seven of the last eight presidential votes which means more people favor Dem policies which would mean that we'd prevail eventually if the Senate had a simple majority vote like every other representative body.

After Dems have run on the slogan "vote for us again and this time we'll totally get things done."

Bizarro world. They have the Supreme Court, electoral college, 2 Senators from even low population states, rigging the Congressional districts so they get way more than their share of representation.

Yet still act as if they are the ones being underrepresented.

But it often seems when we are in the majority we eat shit. When we are the minority we eat shit. When it's almost evenly balanced we eat shit.

We certainly don't want to be like the Republicans but they push everything right to the limit and unfortunately it seems like they keep gaining ground, even if it's little by little.

Having zero tolerance for anything they pull is the only way to deal with these fascist threats to our country. Giving them their own medicine back isn't a bad idea either.

who going back to reagan election after election gave the repubs the power? Who are those folks? Mostly angry white folks. (I'm white). There are more of us, but not enough of us get it. Not enough of us grasp the seriousness of it all. We must continue to promote voting in the Midterms of 2022. We will be fighting to keep the Biden/Harris agenda.

15. The pure propaganda coming from right wing media has a big impact. Also the election tampering

from Putin, the gerrymandering and the outright voter suppression helped put Trump and his hoard in office. So I'm not quite convinced that the "angry white voter" is the sole source of these Republicans getting into power. Even more so now with these new suppression laws that will be going into effect in many states. Trump and the GOP can falsely claim election fraud all they want, but it is clear that they are the ones who are actually engaging in election fraud.

Yes, we need a massive voter turnout to get these vermin out of the House and Senate but we also need to start holding them accountable without hesitation for what they are doing now and have done in the past. Hoping to simply overwhelm them with GOTV is not enough, IMO.
