(59 posts)Talk about a woman who is destroying her career who is going organize for her during reelection? If she thinks she will have better luck running as republican that won't help they will want a real republican not a turn coat.

(4,065 posts)The hounding into the bathroom was pretty bad.
I'd have had my back up at that, and probably before. We need folks who understand human psychology to step forward and say "That's a very bad idea." Why? Because it will absolutely backfire. Before the hounding into bathrooms (or rowing out to a yacht) occur.

(14,780 posts)She's declined to meet with or hear from her constituents over matters of importance to them, while repeatedly voting against their interests. They have become desperate. What other options do they have?

(14,780 posts)When her starting position is blocking the democratic agenda in a way that is likely to end up costing us elections all around the country.. Its a problem.
And I note you havnt offered an alternative. Only a scare tactic. But clearly its one that doesnt appear to have any teeth for her constituents.

(34,031 posts)So, if they get a Republican in office, will they follow that person to the restroom and film them?
Or will the Republican hire security and keep them away?
Republicans don't meet with anyone here in Texas, except in safe districts. Ted Cruz refuses to meet with anyone who resembles a Democrat. Will Hurd who was fairly moderate only went to Republican enclaves in rural areas. One of my friends chased him down 60 miles away at a rural Dairy Queen where he was speaking to ranchers and then a ruckus occurred when some rural people attacked her and accused her of being a non-citizen. (She was born and raised in Texas) John Cornyn never has town halls. Neither does Chip Roy. They refuse to meet with anyone.

(14,780 posts)Technically, by almost exactly the same margin as Kelly (2.4% vs 2.35%). Which given she had a green pulling votes and he didnt have that disadvantage, means she actually did better.
And making the point that she is acting like a Texas Republican does not seem to bolster the case that people should leave her alone to do whatever she wants no matter how much it harms against the people who elected her.
So far, it would seem she is determined to make sure that the Republicans have the power to choose which voters get to vote in her next election, and that Democrats (including herself) get no legislative victories to campaign on in the future. Doing nothing is not really an option, as its a quick way to make sure that the Republicans eventually get her seat and many others sooner.

(4,065 posts)I don't have an answer. Just saying some behaviors have a high likelihood for backfiring. I am all empathy for those feeling desperate. I'm worried myself. I'm stuck with Cornyn and Cruz so it's even more hopeless here.

(14,780 posts)I have one amazing senator. But it doesnt seem to be doing much good.
I guess the problem as i see it is that left alone, Sinema seems bound and determined to make sure that you are forever stuck with Cornyn and Cruz. Given that she seems determined to do her best to sink other democrats chances of election or re-election, I cant find it in myself to blame people desperate to take any shot at trying to effect her path
But i respect your honest answer here. The options all suck at this point. And the likelihood is that no matter what any of us do or dont do, her choices will have a horrible cost collectively for our country and each of us citizens and residents independently.
