I am a pet sitter in KCMO. I have customers on the right and on the left and all in between . I don't talk politics or religion. I live on SS and my pet sitting income.

I have a relatively new customer that I knew was right wing. I just didn't know how right wing.

She is 66 and had a Moderna shot in March. 7 months ago.

She is going to the Trump rally tomorrow night in Des Moines.

Most of those people will probably not be vaccinated and unmasked. But she feels very comfortable with that. She is sure she is not in danger because her father was around her sick step mother and he never got sick.

So I have 2 issues. One, she is a Trump fan. And two, she has no common sense.

I would be careful about being around her. She could go down there and get infected and bring it back to you.

I'm not bringing this up because she's going to a Trump rally. I would be concerned if she were going to an unmasked Democratic rally too, if such a thing existed.

It would be hard to tell her that in such a way as to make her realize that you aren't refusing to go over there for political reasons, but you have to be concerned for your own safety. I think I would at least charge her hazard pay.

I got the Moderna shot and I recently got the extra shot of Moderna that some people are calling the "booster," even though it technically isn't a booster. But I still would have apprehensions about being in a large crowd, and I certainly wouldn't do it unmasked. Maybe you should wear a mask around her when she gets back. It wouldn't hurt, and it might keep you from getting infected.

I've spent a few months at a mountain retreat, but it is a very "red" area. In nearly 3 months I've been here, I believe I've seen two vehicles that had one "Trump" sticker. Most are sad looking jalopies so covered in hateful RW fanaticism it makes a parody of itself.
