The only way to remove a senator is if they resign or are expelled by a 2/3 majority vote in the senate. Good luck with getting 67 votes.

unless they are removed by a 2/3 vote. They may not be able to take votes from prison but they would still be senators.

but how would alleged wrongdoing by three Representatives (which is the point of the article you linked) lead to the expulsion of Senators?

I think it involved campaign donations? Not sure. But I remember clearly two things about it. The first, that he stepped down. And the second, he was excoriated by the other Senators when his parting shot was that they all did what he was found guilty of doing.

do they suffer those consequences. They wear those scandals and criminality like a badge of office. It actually makes me wonder if there is any repugnant, reprehensible, Republiclan politician who is not corrupt.
