Republican Senators, and they are forced out? What does that do to the balance in the Senate when we're looking for majority votes?

(7,616 posts)The only way to remove a senator is if they resign or are expelled by a 2/3 majority vote in the senate. Good luck with getting 67 votes.

(46,684 posts)I think it involved campaign donations? Not sure. But I remember clearly two things about it. The first, that he stepped down. And the second, he was excoriated by the other Senators when his parting shot was that they all did what he was found guilty of doing.

do they suffer those consequences. They wear those scandals and criminality like a badge of office. It actually makes me wonder if there is any repugnant, reprehensible, Republiclan politician who is not corrupt.
