Quite a few old TV series that I like are on Roku or Tubi for free but those are supported by ads. I get Sling mostly for MSNBC and CNN news, plus my husband watches a lot of the channels that would normally be on cable, all of those have ads.

So even if someone cuts the cable, they will still get ads. It's only on streaming channels such as Netflix which are fully supported by viewer subscriptions that you can completely avoid ads.

Cable is not the enemy, corporate media is.
