7. i remember watching the chicago cops on tv last year

groups of them standing around talking to each other during the lockdown.
yes, they were outside.
no, none of them had a fucking mask on.
i kept thinking: "what the hell is wrong with all of you? too tough to get covid?"

witnessed a car wreck, and when i backed away cuz the cop wouldnt put a mask on, he accused me of not cooperating. a guy asked him to put on a mask, and bingo.

One good aspect of this “solution” is that it’s very localized. Each local area where the police resign can choose the solution that’s best for them.

I worked at National Airport in Washington DC in the 1970s. One night, when a flight was cancelled, I told a passenger he could take the bus back to Ft. Belvoir, south of the airport and on the public bus line. He was enraged, and made it clear to me that he felt totally unsafe taking the bus. Really? I was a woman half his size who took the bus to and from the airport every single day, much later that he was anticipating. Plus, he was some kind of army officer. Maybe a Major, maybe a Colonel. His job was essentially to protect people like me, and he was afraid to ride the bus? Really?

A lot of men are cowards, or at least not very brave.
