'Are we blowing this?': McAuliffe and friends plead for online cash.

Joe Biden checked in. So did Stacey Abrams. And James Carville reached out — over 40 times in the last three months.

As the Virginia gubernatorial race careens toward the finish line, with just over three weeks to go, fundraising emails from former Gov. Terry McAuliffe and other Democrats are sounding the alarm. The McAuliffe campaign has tapped the aforementioned big names to sign emails: Biden urged supporters to chip in because “folks, the Virginia Governor’s race is a big deal not just for the Commonwealth but for our country.” Abrams’ email let everyone know, “All eyes are on Virginia.” And McAuliffe emailed his supporters last week with a simple question: “Are we blowing this?”

But there’s hardly been a more prolific email signer than the Ragin’ Cajun himself. Since July 14, Carville has signed his name to 47 different emails sent through the McAuliffe campaign.

Like other emails from Virginia Democrats, the Carville-signed missives have slammed on the panic button in recent weeks, as the race between McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin has tightened. Many of them are standard fare, trying to create a sense of urgency among grassroots donors.

why it isn't about policy-vs-policy instead of competing dollar amounts. I'm getting similar emails now concerning a race in Nevada. Are political races nowadays entirely all about who spends the most money?

I always support every Democrat I can afford with my very limited budget, including Governor McAuliffe but it certainly would boost my enthusiasm if they would plead based on policy chops instead of just money.

Just another sign of our Democracy being robbed and pillaged of everyday people's scarce funds that have to compete with GOP billionaire funding of right-wing campaigns, public media and think tanks.

KY rant done.......

...misreading the electorate and their supposed need for political moderation.

He's busy fretting about conservative support and may be hemmoraging support from his Democratic base as a result. The poll registers republican 'enthusiasm,' so it shouldn't be hard to fathom McAuliffe should be trying to appeal to his Democrats and leave courting republicans to republicans.

stays blue? Honestly, if some don't support Democrats ...the only thing standing between us and a Republicans run Virginia, can we really call them the base? If we all turn out, we win period. Time to rally behind the Democratic power and stop the fascist cult formerly known as the Republican Party.
