A Florida veterinarian who recorded videos of himself sexually abusing dogs and then shared them online was sentenced to more than 21 years in prison, the Department of Justice announced Friday. Prentiss Madden, the medical director of Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Aventura, was arrested in March and pleaded guilty in July to child porn and animal cruelty charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Florida. Prosecutors say Homeland Security agents discovered footage of the 40-year-old vet sexually abusing dogs and creating an “animal crush” video, along with multiple chats about bestiality on his cell phone. Some of the abuse allegedly occurred at the animal hospital where he worked. Prosecutors accuse Madden of having “thousands” of images, videos, and chats of child porn or discussions of sexually abusing children. Madden was sentenced to 272 months in prison.

3. It is so hard to fathom depravity ...

I saw a 60 minutes thing decades ago about a fairly wealthy, educated businessman in prison for something pretty heinous I won't repeat - one of those pillar of the community types. He pleaded guilty and begged for the death penalty in court but that state doesn't do that. Fast forward decades and his sentence was about to run out. He told Leslie Stahl he was trying to figure out a crime to do in jail that would get him another decades in jail because if they let him out he'll do it again.


There is so much twisted horrible in humanity it is hard to see the good sometimes. The horrible gets the headlines and the attention. The good, not so much. My Dad said the good is all around us, that's not news. If the terrible was everywhere, then the good would be news. He said people pay attention to what sticks out. I am now older than he was when he said it... and I tend to agree.

cause he has serious sex issues and wouldn't want other inmates to become his sex slaves.
