His dad, Nick Clooney was anchor for the Cincinnati news for decades.

As his son started to become famous and be mentioned in the media, I always did a double take as it was weird to hear "George Clooney" instead of "Nick Clooney"

Even today, living nowhere near Cincinnati I'll occasionally accidentally reference George as "Nick" and get funny looks.
