I'm reading Rolling Stone's account of Trump's Iowa MAGAt rally and can't even pretend to "get" it.

Maybe it's no more complex than the MAGAts being a cult, and Trump being Jim Jones.

It's all lies, and they clap like trained seals.

Trump ADMITS TO THE MAGATS that it's a lie, and explains WHY he's TELLING the lie:

"It's the single biggest issue, the issue that gets the most pull, the most respect. The biggest cheers is (sic) talking about the election fraud of the 2020 presidential election. Nobody's ever seen anything like it."

...and they clap like trained seals.

Aaron Rupar is still a hero on Twitter, because he watches these shit shows and chops them up into sound bites for people who can't handle watching the whole thing, but I can no longer take even a few seconds' worth of the sound of Trump's voice. He's still doing that sing-song hissy fadeout on words he wants to emphasize, he's still playing the invisible accordion and doing the tiny jazz hands moves. In short, NOTHING HAS CHANGED, it's only gotten worse, because now he doesn't have to pretend to be president, he just needs to go out and air his grievances and seek revenge as the MAGAts cheer him on.

Anyway, here's the Rolling Stone piece if you're interested:

But it didn’t matter to the adoring crowd, which chanted “Trump won!” while the ex-president spewed election fraud lies

Everybody knows it's phony, but they cheer anyway. I actually think it's a lot of the same fuckwits.

I had a buddy who was really into pro wrestling. One time I sat with him for awhile watching. He knew it was BS but liked to play along. I could at least agree that some of those guys were pretty athletic for their size and tried to watch it from that point of view. But after 20 minutes I had enough. I guess that all plays to a certain personality.

Our resistance must continue towards him and his cult candidates.

and massive funding.

What a disgrace that the American people - including Democrats - are still paying big bucks for his Secret Service protection.

I'm sure Putin and Murdoch are grateful. Healthcare facilities located where these people are from - no so much.
