Scotland Yard has abandoned its review of sex abuse allegations surrounding Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein, it was revealed tonight.
After its officers reportedly spoke with accuser Virginia Roberts, the force has decided to take no further action over her allegation that she was trafficked to London as a 17-year-old and forced to have sex with Andrew.
Scotland Yard has also decided to take no further action over claims that billionaire financier Epstein groomed and abused other young women in Britain.
The Duke of York, 61, is facing a civil lawsuit in the US after Miss Roberts accused him of 'rape in the first degree', and said she was abused by him in London after a visit to Tramp nightclub in Mayfair. Andrew has always vehemently denied the claims and his legal team is seeking to get the US case thrown out.

(17,136 posts)Princess Anne was prosecuted and fined for a dog of hers that bit another dog or person. Maybe twenty or more years ago.
On edit: The memory was OK. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/2497531.stm

(14,907 posts)The article notes that she was convicted of a criminal offense, there was a fine of £500, a compensation payment of £500, and a court cost payment of £148, for a grand total punishment of £1148 plus a wagging-finger-of-shame threatening to put the dog down if it happened again.
The article also notes it was the first time "a senior member of the Royal Family" had ever been criminally convicted (though the terms "senior member" and "Royal Family" were not defined in the article, leaving some ambiguity in that otherwise absolute statement), and no other senior royal had even been brought to court in 100+ years.
IOW, when you're a royal, they won't even bother investigating or prosecuting you. As expected.

(17,136 posts)The guy in question was Prince Albert Victor, son of the future Edward VII. He died in a flu pandemic in 1892 aged 28. Once again, I have no idea where I read this, but it's been debunked by proof he was elsewhere when one or more ripper killings happened.
