2. I think they are some of the dumbest and racist people I have ever met.

It is mostly a generational thing which makes it hard to "kick" the guilt they feel when rejecting the ignorance. Such is the case with almost all religions. Others are just grifters who play on this ignorance for power and influence.

Their language is bigoted and hateful, and their actions are too.

They don't preach the Christianity that most people are familiar with anymore, their version of Christianity is violent and hateful, especially towards women who Evangelicals view as little more than a man's property. Evangelicalism in America, just as it is right now, could easily be used for genocide.

I think Evangelicals in the US today, would readily and joyfully start rounding up their neighbors for extermination if they were empowered to do so. That's how far gone they are, they believe killing millions of their fellow Americans would be fine.
