We need to start to call this what is is. TRUMP ELECTION THEFT. Team Trump has spent the last year trying to steal an election that they lost by over 7 million votes. This was a landslide by recent elections standards. This was not close, he got beaten badly and has spent 11 months trying to rewrite the entire thing.
It is not the big lie, it is attempted Trump election theft of an election that was not even close.

They want to make sure those nuts keep voting.

(8,327 posts)Republicans trying to steal the election. The big lie is just a soft way of saying election theft. For the longest time the media would not call what Trump was doing was lying. Now that are afraid to call it what it is, stealing the election.

(58,634 posts)are the same ones who were telling us to "get over" 2016. Truth is, there wasn't a lot of "go back and correct" 2016, though there were certainly a lot of us complaining and getting to work to ensure it didn't happen again. The result was 2018 and 2020 and I hope we can keep the momentum going forward.
Sure, we bitched about 2016, but we never tried to violently overturn the outcome like the right is doing.

(24,402 posts)I've been in more than one argument with a right-winger trying to argue that false equivalency. As we all know:
1. Hillary conceded early the next morning
2. Obama fully cooperated in the transition and even tried to help Trump prepare for the job (I'm sure he hated every minute of it though)
3. There were no election audits, nor any widespread calls for them by Democratic politicians, who sucked it up and got right back to work.

(8,327 posts)He lost by over 7 million votes. He also got swamped in the electoral college, it was actually a 50/50 split in states, but the states where people actually live overwhelmingly votes for President Biden.
