This all leads to crushing defeats in 2022 and 2024.
Call me a political opportunist but I'll take that label.
How about stimulus checks targeted to the low income folks to help pay for increased costs?
How about temporary suspension of Federal gas taxes?
Maybe people just aren't aware of what may be coming. If the GOP message of "Inflation is Taxation" is propagandized with Joe's "No one under 400k will pay more..." and Christmas gifts failing to arrive in time and $5/gal gas and $400 heating bills and an actual recession materializes...
Remember, I think it was Rachel Maddow (or Don Lemon?) who in 2016 compared the election to a temper tantrum.
If all these shitty things line up it will make 2016 look irrelevant..

(1,379 posts)And natural gas to increase 30% this year. That is going to break many lower and middle class heating budgets this winter.
That will reflect on the whole party in the coming elections.

(2,570 posts)the three week and relentless attack for the Afghanistan withdrawal followed by some high fakery in reporting on polls that asked specific questions but were some how summarized into that totally faked low point, now referred to as, "Biden's recent low point," and so hard to hide how popular he actually is had to report the 50% approval rating poll.
More recently we are treated to the usual, "democratic in disarray, focus on our traitors Manchin and Sinema, and not bothering to do any of that equivalency thing when talking about the Democratic social spending programs versus the Republican tax cuts for the rich and how the latter caused the big jump in the national debt during the turnip's term.
Throw in plenty of price gouging being added to the costs of conducting business during a pandemic, but now being used to argue against the Reconciliation legislation.
