Adam Schefter is being criticized for what Maggie Haberman routinely did.

Here is the story for those not into sports.
https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2021/10/13/adam-schefter-jon-gruden-emails

But the thing is, Schefter was known as the guy who talked to the top people and reported that back. If he said, "The Aaron Rogers Cap" says, we know he was telling us what Rogers said. He wasn't an investigative reporter.

But while the Press ombudsmen are up in arms that he shared a story with a source, they have remained silent about reporters like Maggie Haberman who just wrote what those in power told her, true or not. She traded access for scrutiny.

I will leave it to you which is the more serious break with journalistic integrity.

ESPN markets Schefter as an "NFL Insider".
I think their term insider is abundantly clear. It's not a matter of investigation details regarding criminality being offered for editing. It was a football story when football wasn't happening.
There are way bigger issues in this email dump to be pursued.
