10. It stopped being my Grandpa's Republican Party in 1980

When they elected Reagan it was the beginning of the end. Thankfully my Grandpa passed away before he could see what the Repukes have crumbled into. For myself, I have never voted for a Repuke EVER, and I've been voting since 1972. I believe my siblings can pretty much say the same thing.

Democrat but crossed the ballot to vote Republican on some economic issues, until the "Reagan Revolution."
She was an elegant lady, but I remember her practically spitting once when we discussed their economics. She and your grandpa could have had some good talks.
