Sailors who refuse the shot can be reassigned while their cases are heard, and will not be promoted or given any other orders -- even if they have a pending exemption application, according to new administrative guidance sent to the fleet.
Senior officers were ordered to be inoculated immediately, and will be given five days to comply once notified by a superior or face detachment for cause proceedings. If separated, they won't be eligible for involuntary separation pay and can have any unearned special or incentive pays recouped.
"An unvaccinated senior leader without a pending or approved exemption calls into question the Navy's trust and confidence regarding their ability to ensure unit readiness or to maintain good order and discipline," the memo said.

The panel could seek to recoup bonuses, special and incentive pay, and the cost of training and education.

Deadline for active-duty Navy is Nov. 28, and for active-duty Army is Dec. 15.

Which is a memo that should be going out to all political and corporate leaders as well, and be amplified by same.
Maybe the anti-science, anti-medicine, anti-democracy, anti-logic crowd are Klingons, cloaked?
Maybe better explanation than the sociological studies.

Trump's shaman was kicked out of the Navy for refusing an anthrax vaccine.
He did not 'quit'.

(65,337 posts)Take half the savings, spread that around to remaining enlisted personnel, consider the other half as reduction in defense spending.
We spend way more than needed on defense. Any reduction is a positive step.
So, we get the smart, logical enlisted better compensated & a modest reduction in costs.
Win, win.

(8,870 posts)I lost count of all my shots in the Navy. Still alive, didnt turn colors or change sexual orientation. They cant track me either. Most of the Forest mountains I am in daily gets zero cell connection. We used Trimble GPS units in my classes for Forest Management. Picking up sat reception under Forest canopy was horrible on those $8,000 units. I micro chip in the arm will either. And, Reassigned until case is heard????? I spent a month in transfer barracks in San Diego before sent to A school in Great Lakes. That place sucked bad. That housing costs tax dollars. Screw em, discharge, less than Honorable, pay your own way home. No benefits, and little chance of being hired, except GQP voting supervisors. They Dont pay well.

(4,429 posts)Which makes sense. The leadership cant lead if they cant follow lawful orders.
It looks like the worst discharge classification for junior enlisted who refuse will be General under honorable conditionsunless they do something dishonest to exacerbate it (like try to fake a vaccination).
They also have to give back any retention bonus or education reimbursement. Seems quite reasonable. Good for the USN.

(57,427 posts)... to officers and senior enlisted: if you can't take the new Navy, retire or get out.
I always appreciated the the Navy's top down policies. It let the ranks know we were all in it together.
When the ship goes down, we go down together; when we pull into home port the confetti falls on all of us.
