Based on related posts I tend to believe he said something inspiring today about the Jan 6 Committee effort. Which would be nice but still not a reason to make him Speaker.

Hakeem Jeffries. He has that mean gleam in his eye that Pelosi, John Lewis, Clinton (HRC) - can get - and they do it with a pleasant expression and calm demeanor.

I don't know. I think Pelosi is such a good speaker because she knows the ins and outs of the House and knows how to keep her caucus together. Whoever is the next speaker will need that skill set.
