An unvaccinated man met a doctor at a bar. He left agreeing to get his first dose.

Mark Hall was not fond of Duane Mitchell's appetizer selection.

"That sounds awful. No, thank you," Hall joked.

Soon, the icebreaker that got the two strangers chatting at the bar of a Gainesville, Fla., restaurant earlier this month turned into an over three-hour-long conversation about coronavirus vaccines.

"What do you think about the vaccine?" Hall asked after Mitchell disclosed that he was a researcher studying human diseases at the University of Florida.

Mitchell replied that he believed in the vaccine and that he had been vaccinated. But Hall had no plans to get the shot. Hall said he had done extensive research about the vaccines, but plenty of his questions remained unanswered.

-----

By the end of the dinner, the men exchanged numbers, and Hall cracked one more joke. He'd get the vaccine - but only if Mitchell gave it to him, the physician told The Post. To Mitchell's surprise, Hall followed through and texted him to schedule his appointment at the university's clinic. Five days after their chance meeting, Hall received his first shot.

But do it in such a way that people can get a shot without their friends and neighbors knowing. A vax popup at the Missouri Fair got zero people because it was too visible. Everyone could see who was walking in to get a shot.

a vaccine-hesitant coworker of mine paused outside a doctor's office with a "get your covid vaccine" sign - the doctor actually wandered out and asked if he was vaccinated - he said no and the doc said, come on in, let's talk about that, no pressure....my coworker said he rolled up his sleeve 15 minutes later. When he got his second shot he asked the doc, how many folk have you talked into getting vaccinated - he smiled and said, "fifty-two"

Mark Hall’s wife had been vaccinated but couldn’t convince him to get the vaccine too. And yet this doctor convinced him. Amazing.

10. I had a similar conversation..

with my hair stylist last spring. I’m older than him so, when I was vaccinated he wasn’t yet eligible. But he was eligible the day I came in for my appointment. He has been my stylist for twenty years, and I know him to be a thoughtful, reasonable, responsible man, so when I asked if he was vaccinated yet and he said he wasn’t comfortable with it yet, I knew that response was not coming from a knee-jerk political response. He had legitimate apprehensions. So I asked him to tell me what his apprehensions were, I shared my experience with being vaccinated, he asked me a lot of questions, and we left it at that. When I left, he hugged me and said, “It was really, REALLY good talking to you today.”

When I came back a month later, he was vaccinated. Last month when I went in, he went on a tirade about “Why don’t these people just get the damn shot! It’s so selfish!” Than he started laughing and said, “I’ll bet you can’t believe I’m saying this.” I believed it. He just needed an open ear and honest conversation to convince him.

who had "done his own research" in a closed space.

And this doctor, who presumably has sick and old patients, shouldn't have either.

Heartwarming stories about how someone dragged a spreader, kicking and screaming, to an action that will stop him from killing loved ones and strangers only legitimize the killer.

I am sick to death of them.

This guy should have been shunned. For everyone's safety.

That doctor has a lot more patience than I do. Here are the reasons you should do it, here's how you can do it, but I don't have the time or energy to spend three hours persuading and cosseting someone to do something.
