(Snip)
In her latest interview in People magazine, she describes an environment in the White House, where Trumps explosive temper made it such that grown adults would literally hide from Trump and secretly hope that his anger would find a new target soon enough, allowing the person to start over:
(Snip)
I never saw him lose his temper with Mrs. Trump. Then when I got to the West Wing, I saw him do it to others and it was really jarring. I remember being struck by how people just took it a national security adviser or a secretary of state or a cabinet member
I never saw anyone push back.
The first time he did it to me was on Air Force One and it was so fast. Picture a DJ board where you can just push the volume all the way up. Its that swift, how loud he gets.
The formula me and my colleagues took was: we would take it, and then just stay out of his line of sight for the next day or two. And then sadly, we would kind of hope he would turn his eye on someone else. I think that thats where some of the real backstabbing, dog-eat-dog culture came from. You were so desperate not to be on his bad side, that you would let anybody else be on his bad side.

(2,113 posts)But its completely understandable. This is the press secretary who refused to hold a press conference on camera. (Turns out it is because she refused to stand up and tell lies in front of reporters). And when we read of her book Ill Take Your Questions Now, we believed it would be stuffed with more entertaining anecdotes but nothing really new. [emphasis mine]

(12,463 posts)Lesson 1 do not tolerate bullying shit. Ignore his jarring angry drama and do not put up with it.
The people in the whitehouse that freaked out when tfg got mad and dramatic now know what battered women and abused children deal with.
My father was an abuser.. I lived under his threats and degrading and hitting for years.
My sisters and my mom always tried to ignore or placate him and sometimes they
or I got hurt.
One day when I was a teenager I decided to stop being scared of him.
He was cutting a roast
to make a sandwich and began to start in on me.
He put down the butcher knife.
I picked it up
He started to berate and threaten me.
I stepped up fast.
Yelled with the angriest voice I could do, with the knife near his face, if you try to tear me down again or hit me,
I will poke your eyes out with this knife. Dont think I wouldn't do it you got to sleep sometime you bastard.
He started to run out the kitchen door. While he was opening it and standing still I threw the knife it stuck in the door inches away from him. He ran out,got into his car and zoomed out the driveway.
Later he whined to mom pathetically that I tried to kill him. I overheard and laughed.
Mom told him quit making shit up.
He never hit me again.
And watched his mouth too.
I learned to out bully a bully to the point I made it crystal clear
that I was willing to outdo his drama with
a bigger scarier drama and bigger threat then he expected.
Bully psychopaths like my father pay attention to your boundaries when you let them have thier own medicine back times 1,000 they know when to cut the shit when they would be the one hurt this time.
Dont worry he was not hurt, or in real danger. I know how to throw knives, and I had no intention to hurt or kill him,I just made it look to him like I would.
robbob
(3,527 posts)The first time he yelled at me I pushed back hard; told him I didnt appreciate being yelled at, and not to use that tone of voice with me. He never did again, but there were plenty of people too cowed by his behaviour, so he took his anger out on them. I learned my lesson; stand up to a bully or theyll just keep abusing you.
I_UndergroundPanther
(12,463 posts)Trump wouldn't know what to do if somebody stood up to him and laid down boundaries and stood by them.
This is probably why he's such a dangerous bully now he's gotten away with it for far too long.
I wouldn't give that orange piece of shit
A nanometer.
If he shows his pasty, bulbous, diapered ass I would kick it every fucking time.
Not make it worth his time to fuck with me.
That way he wouldn't
Try any shit 'cause I won't stand for it.
Learned that lesson with my father and every fucking bully in my school after I asserted my boundaries with him.
Strange how peaceful my life became after I let those creeps have it.

(63,221 posts)When you stand up to them, when you finally push back and show them that you are not going to put up with their shit anymore, they totally back down.
They are nothing more than paper tigers and all it takes is a taste or their own medicine to get them to run away with their tails between thier legs.
Mr.Bill
(24,280 posts)that I needed so badly that I would tolerate shit like that.

(16,361 posts)Based on what some mental health experts have said/written about him, I believe TFG is about as extreme an example of malignant narcissism as most have ever seen. That's saying something, because "malignant" narcissism is already at the extreme end of the narcissism spectrum!
I'm convinced he's absolutely incapable of caring about anyone other than himself. Since morals and ethics mean nothing to him (he's also a sociopath, according to many of those same experts), that means his lizard brain is basically in charge and calling all the shots, because that's literally all he has.
I'd love to see some scans of his brain, the kind that show which parts are functioning and which aren't. I think it would reveal a lot.
