"SNIP.......

“Republicans believe they have a good shot at taking Congress next year. But there’s a catch,” the New York Times reports.

“The G.O.P.’s ambitions of ending unified Democratic control in Washington in 2022 are colliding with a considerable force that has the ability to sway tens of millions of votes: former President Donald J. Trump’s increasingly vocal demands that members of his party remain in a permanent state of obedience, endorsing his false claims of a stolen election or risking his wrath.”

“In a series of public appearances and statements over the last week, Mr. Trump has signaled not only that he plans to work against Republicans he deems disloyal, but also that his meritless claims that widespread voter fraud cost him the White House in 2020 will be his litmus test, going so far as to threaten that his voters will sit out future elections.”

The more he tries to hug Republicans and they fall in line with him, the easier it will be for Democrats to tar them with him and his election denialism/desire for election subversion

... claims multiple multiple repug sources

One of the most concerned is Senator Mitch McConnell, the minority leader.

Mr. McConnell has told colleagues that he is concerned Mr. Trump’s campaign to relitigate the 2020 election could depress confidence among Republican voters and hurt the party’s chances at winning back the majority it lost this year after Democrats captured Georgia’s two Senate seats.

The Republicans are losing voters due to their agenda, their evilness, their deaths and their putrid alliance to trump.

Biden won by millions. Georgia lost to Democrats. Beto is going to be the next Gov of Texas. The worms are being turned...out.

It is going to be a very close race in 2021,2022,and beyond.

Only a massive Nationwide Grass Roots GOTV effort like the one Stacy Abrams led in Georgia, is going to keep the Democratic Party in power, and prevent the rethugs from instituting a permanent theocracy.

Let's get to work!

They will accede to his demands because they fear what will happen if they don't. Until they decide that the electoral cost outweighs the risks of bucking Trump, they will continue to maintain their slavish devotion to him. The sad fact is that they have already had a few moments to dump him and they didn't. And that is why he remains relevant.

I can see him literally blowing up the gqp. If we think it was bad at the end of his days in power, it will pale in comparison to his acts against the gqp.

He'll never admit it, he'll never walk it back it either. So he lost millions of votes over that alone. There will never be enough new Repuke voters out there to make up for all the old people he lost by telling them not to vote by mail.

There were so many more mistakes, but that was by far the stupidest.

Thank you Chump!

and you're damned lucky if all you catch is fleas. Republicans had several chances to cut ties with the Orange Maniac, but they didn't want to lose the mad dog's cult voters.

If they would have punted the asshole immediately they would have suffered minimal damage. But a few key republicans (Cruz, Hawley, Jordan) went all in on the Orange Maniac and the rest followed suit. And their is never room for dissension among republicans.

He's all yours, GQP. Now you're going to have that anchor around your necks until the bitter end. Good luck salvaging what remains of your party, assholes.
