The progressives are being asked to back off a big key part of the climate change portion of the bill. If Biden wants them to agree to that, then, imo, he should give them something in return: namely, an executive order forgiving $50k in student loans for each borrower. And, Manchin/Sinema should end the filibuster on voting reform.

Once passed, Dems should make a deal with America—give us a majority of at least 52 Senators, and a Dem majority in Congress, and we will toss the filibuster altogether and get the rest of it after the midterms.

Just my 2 cents.
