Got my car keyed in Ohio...........Last edited Sun Oct 21, 2012, 07:55 PM - Edit history (1)
I was parked in a hotel parking lot this weekend in Ohio. I was attending a wedding. Parked the car late Saturday afternoon. Went to the car this morning and found my Obama/Biden magnetic placard stolen & my car scratched.
I am pissed that this/these asshole/s are now attacking us in our wallets. The car is only 2 years old, I just had this whole area of the car replaced and painted due to an accident (not my fault) the damage on that accident was $2900. I figure the paint job for these scratches will be at least $500.

They only want it reported so they can include in statistics.
My son's old Honda was stolen and stripped to the bone, they left one tire, a homemade crack pipe and a can of beans. My husband couldn't understand why they didn't dust the car for finger-prints like in CSI. |

But it just goes to show you the hatred that is far more present in the Repuke party. Gun shots through campaign offices and swastikas painted on windows with Obama signs were here in Denver last week. |

37. I am so sorry for your experience....
I never place a permanent bumper sticker on my car. I paid good money for it and try to keep it clean and attractive.
So I always get the magnetic bumper stickers during election season. But I place the bumper sticker on the car when I get ready to drive the car somewhere and always remove it and place it inside the car, face down, when I arrive at my destination. I do this out of concern for the very situation you experienced. Now I have neighbors who know my car and have probably seen me drive with my Obama 2012 bumper sticker. If any of them are rabid, morons they might come and vandalize my vehicle even though the "offending" bumper sticker is no where in sight. So far, so good. |

39. This is exactly why I haven't done the sticker/sign thing.
I'm a proud Pennsylvania labor Democrat who has always proudly displayed the bumper sticker/magnet and lawn signs, but not this year. The hatred on the right just scares me. It is on display within my family. My mother and her husband (I guess technically my stepfather) are building an underground survival storage closet. They have carried their handguns into my daughter's piano recital and my stepdaughter's wedding. These people are becoming unhinged with hatred. So I know I'm being prudent by not going there with the signage this year.

48. I also choose not to put a sticker/sign on my vehicle and I live in SoCal and have a '02 Civic!!!
Its not exactly an expensive car but it is my car and I just don't trust these fucking baggers. I belong to a sort of upscale gym in the South Bay area and I constantly overhear mainly old rich guys spewing forth their Faux news talking points. I am not really worried about my car getting keyed in the gym parking lot, its probably of of the cheapest cars there. Its at the supermarket or at the mall where things are more anonymous which is where I suppose it could happen. It sucks because I DO want to say it loud that I am for Obama and I am proud, to paraphrase James Brown. But then again, I do almost want to spit on the Rmoney/Lying Ryan lawn sign I pass nearby when I walk my dog. BUT I don't because thats what they do, not us!!!

43. I just do not understand the mentality of someone who would do that.
When I see a Romney bumper sticker or lawn sign I'm likely to think something like, "You dumb bastard!" but it would never occur to me to steal or damage the sign or vandalize the car. I figure it's everyone's right to hold and express stupid, ill-informed opinions. If a GOPer similarly thinks my opinions are stupid and ill-informed, why can't I hold and express them anyhow? Do these idiots think we will change our minds because they steal our signs or damage our cars? WTF are they thinking? It baffles me.
Fortunately I live in the People's Republic of Minneapolis, where every other car (including mine) has an Obama sticker and just about every lawn in my neighborhood (including mine) has a sign expressing opposition to a couple of really heinous right-wing-inspired state constitutional amendments (making voting more difficult and outlawing same sex marriage). But If I lived somewhere less welcoming toward Democrats I'm sure I wouldn't have signs or stickers out where some asshole could wreck them. I just don't understand why this happens. What is wrong with these people? |
