White House official on voting rights legislation: "Every constituency has their issue"....

I asked a White House official about those who are frustrated with inaction on voting rights protections. “Every constituency has their issue," the official said. "If you ask immigration folks, they’ll tell you their issue is a life-or-death issue too.”

I understand WHY this official said this. It's easy to be blase' and cynical in Washington. However... this is VOTING RIGHTS legislation, designed to help us maintain our democracy. Help me good DU'ers. I am...confused, to put it politely. I love President Biden and think he has a great team around him. However, I am...confused about this.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

This isn’t a constituency issue. It’s literally the starting point for our whole system of government. The other side is perfectly happy to burn it all down and go with an Authoritarian system. Dems in Washington need to wake tf up.

It explains a lot. I guess they don't need my vote, since I've been silenced here in Georgia.

Don't get me wrong, I'll go through the motions of voting, but qthugs will toss out all the votes they need to get a win.

It looks like he's okay with that. Good luck.
