Good news for the Jan. 6 Committee:

The Trump executive privilege lawsuit has been assigned to Judge Tanya Chutkan, who has expressed horror about the Jan. 6 attack and extended sentences beyond what prosecutors have asked for in a couple cases.

This judge will just be the first stop. I don't see this ending up anywhere but SCOTUS. It practically has to. Unless SCOTUS decides to let a lower court ruling stand.

I don't see that happening with such an important issue.

ecause at the time of the event Bannon was neither a government employee nor working under a contract with the government. Now I suppose he could claim that he was a volunteer working for Trump but that would be a tough sell because the 1/6 rioters could claim they too were volunteers for Trump.

Keep in mind that Nixon lost by 9-0 on his executive privilege case over the Watergate tapes and was ordered to release them so we have a strong precedence as well. Indeed, these Judges need to crack down on the use of the court system to impede justice.
