(2,173 posts)I had to stop watching. The republicans will simply allow any crime to be committed to protect their agenda. I truly and non-hysterically believe they would cover up murder at this point.

(39,110 posts)But the point is, the Rules Committee needs to pass the resolution so it can brought before the whole House for a vote.
I understand. No worries. I simply cannot listen to the blathering of the republicans any longer. It's sickening and they are showing mental unbalance.
Good luck to the Committee. I have a sinking feeling about this.

(29,246 posts)It will pass. Good grief.

(2,173 posts)The republicans will always be contrary to the Dems at this point. There doesn't seem to be any common ground whatsoever.

BeerBarrelPolka
(2,173 posts)I don't even know who you are and am not trying to drag you down. But if this forum is so sensitive that a person can't politely state they are concerned about something, then I'm going to leave and not return.

(294,199 posts)and will pass today and tomorrow. Tired of the sinking feelings - PERIOD.

(2,173 posts)I can understand your sentiment. I hate feeling this way myself. I really do. I think I'm going to listen to some jazz right now to snap me out of my funky mood.
Thanks for the interaction with me!

(294,199 posts)Try some Coltrane
BeerBarrelPolka
(2,173 posts)I love Trane and would get into friendly debates with other jazz aficionados over the Parker/Coltrane comparison.
Right now I think I need a little Oscar Peterson and maybe Joe Pass. I like sax in the evening lol

(2,173 posts)He had an abundance of technique and theoretical knowledge. He was simply amazing. And when he sang (which he did on occasion), he sounded just like Nat King Cole.

(39,110 posts)Oddly, the ranking republican Tom Cole made that one blah blah comment but then chose not to question the witnesses today. Kind of stunning IMHO.
This is how the bread gets made. At this point we're proofing the dough. Enforcing Contempt of Congress is not an instantaneous process. After this committee passes the resolution, then the whole House has to vote to pass it. Then it gets sent to the DOJ and they are the ones that enforce the order. Bannon will attempt to appeal or whatever and so it goes.
I wish we could just pound a gavel and send him to jail. He should be in jail.
BeerBarrelPolka
(2,173 posts)I understand what you wrote. I'm in agreement that Bannon and others as well should be in jail.

(39,110 posts)He's questioning Gym on when exactly he spoke with TFG on Jan 6. So far, Jordan claims he spoke with him after. But McGovern isn't satisfied. He's doubling down. I hope this gets a replay on the news.
NOTE: Jordan and Gaetz are not members of this committee. They were brought in as witnesses by the GOP. Chairman McGovern has every right to grill shirtless Gym like a flounder.
