Garland's modus operanda has remained the same all along

I was a reporter for the Tulsa World during the Oklahoma bombing investigation. We could never figure out Garlands next move. It was just as infuriating then as now. I really am not worried. His investigation will culminate in arrests and convictions of many. I feel TFG is going down.

Our household is pinning hopes on the fact that Andrew Weissmann has disappeared from MSNBC, where he used to be a regular guest.

...to at least have a rough sense of what's going on at the DoJ. If he's worried that little is being done, and that the "looking forward, not backward" mentality is taking hold, I'm guessing he has a good reason to be worried.

Those waiting for Garland to do something regarding Trump and company will be disappointed.

Garland would have been a disappointment as a SCOTUS justice as well.

Preserving the institutions by not shaking anything up and keeping himself smelling clean is more important to him than actual justice.

Let us remember that it was Oram Hatch who recommended Garland to Obama for the supreme court.

Why is he letting all the rioters walk, though? That must be emboldening their commanding officers.

Jan. 6 trials slowed by mounting evidence in US Capitol riot
By ALANNA DURKIN RICHER and LINDSAY WHITEHURST , Associated Press - Sep 28

So far, only about 80 cases have been resolved by guilty pleas — largely by those who were charged only with misdemeanor offenses. Scores of others face serious felony charges including conspiracy, assaulting officers and obstructing of an official proceeding that call for lengthy sentences behind bars.

The Justice Department has called it the largest investigation in American history, with probes open in 55 out of 56 FBI field offices. Evidence collected in the attack includes thousands of hours of video footage, hundreds of thousands of tips from the public and more than 1 million Parler posts, replies and data. The Justice Department is building massive databases to share all evidence stemming from the attack with defense attorneys.

=============================================
At least one of those roughly 70 defendants who are locked up pretrial has already pointed to the delays in an effort to get out of jail. Kelly Meggs, described by authorities as the leader of the Florida chapter of the Oath Keepers, said in an unsuccessful motion for release that with a January trial looking unlikely, he's effectively being held in “indefinite pre-trial detention which, under the circumstances, is tantamount to a human rights violation.”

That's what at least three of them have gotten.

These people were all attempting to overthrow the duly elected government of the United States Of America.

and sent home to face their legal bills, and in a lot of cases unemployment and social sanctions.

The serious cases haven't been brought to court yet.

We knew that. '

PinkTiger's reassuring post was nice to read, though just confirming what sensible people would expect of Biden's DoJ. Their job's also a little bigger these days in that it include saving our nation from a Republican Party internal coup or putsch.

Unbelievable.

No one discussing testifying or providing evidence or called for a deposition.

Nothing.

If there is an investigation not one single person has leaked or even mentioned being summoned.

We keep getting told the investigation is so large and complicated. Takes time. Be patient.

But if even an insider like Adam Schiff is sending up alarm bells about the inaction *about what we've been assured here on DU is a massive and complicated investigation* I'm not sure what else to believe but there isn't any action happening with DOJ

We were so frustrated during the OKC bombing was being investigated. But it ended up in two convictions, and Mcvey was put to death.

We have no idea if the DOJ is investigating #TraitorTrump, his criminal kids, TrumpCo, any of it.

In fact, all signs point to Garland agreeing to let the past stay in the past and just "look ahead"

When the fascists in government take to the microphone every day to tear us asunder...

...perhaps acting quietly and behind the scenes isn't sufficient to quell the legitimate concerns of the VAST MAJORITY of Americans.

You know who else toiled away for 2 years while all of us hoped and prayed for an equitable outcome?

Robert Mueller, that's who.

The justice department is afraid of creating a constitutional crisis. If they were to arrest all the Republicans who were involved in the insurrection all at once, it would cause some serious problems in our government. I don’t know all the concerns they have I can only imagine what they might be. And Mueller’s hands were tied by Barr.
I agree that we are in peril. I’m scared too. But it isn’t Mueller’s fault and it isn’t Garland or Biden’s fault. This is more serious than we know and more involved than we realize.
I believe that when the fog has lifted, we will be both amazed and horrified at the facts.
I’m bloodthirsty. I want them all to end up drawn, quartered, and with their heads on spikes.but I am grownup enough to know that won’t and can’t happen, even figuratively.
Let’s hope and pray for justice and be patient just a wee bit longer.
