At least On cspan’s Washington journal, people calling in on the independent line are invariably right leaning. But I’m sure once legislation passes the rating will go back up

that are anti-entitlements but don't touch their social security or medicare, are against a woman's right to choose because, well, someone has to stand up for those fetal cells but it's ok to send 18/19 year old babies off to fight and die in bogus wars, think its ok to brandish their guns and ram their cars into peaceful protesters, and regard racial equality as reverse discrimination...those Independents?...and they don't approve of Biden...who cares!!

From the stink that their party emits day in and day out. You can put a pig in a dress…

Wingnuts who think the Republicans are too squishy.

Super-lefties who always blame the Democrats first.

Lazy cynics who pretend the problem is "the corrupt duopoly".

People who "really aren't into politics" but want to sound like they've made a decision rather than an abdication.

Feel free to add more.

trade on a 1977 Chevy Blazer with nearly the same options and paid $4700 difference. We had a COLA clause in our contract back then and our wages doubled
but didn't gain anything. Workers without a COLA suffered. My parents had moved to Florida when they retired but by 1980 had to move back they could not afford to live there by then. Their HOA went from $80 to $280. Thanks OPEC.

Like in a TV cop show: The murder happens and, forty minutes later (60 min minus 20 for commercials), the case is solved.

Government and politics work. The involved ones know about needing 60 senators to pass anything but the rest just see nothing happening. Or they see republicans doing a lot of stuff in power and wonder why we can't. They think we are weak.

54% to 41% among voters who consider themselves to be Independents. Fortunately he's got 3 years to win them back.

...their sample methodology, the exact questions, time of day those polled were contacted (yes, that matters), & their criteria for deciding what independent means.
Without that, I can't lend credence to the notion that 20% of independents abandoned him under 1 year from the time THEY VOTED FOR HIM!

polarization work (politically). Media operating with political agendas over decades plant the seeds.

Dems are at a disadvantage politically (not morally)...trying to govern and solve problems instead of campaigning

I can’t take them seriously. They’re the kind of people who when things are going well, they’ll get bored and vote for some new idiot just because “It’s time for a change.”
