What I REALLY don't like about my con brothers

What I really don’t like about my connnie brothers (and a couple of friends) is that not only are they quite conservative, but they are conservative on Every. Single. Issue. I am mostly liberal, but I do have some conservative and moderate views (but not many).
Being 100% conservative, and idolizing someone 100% conservative is cultish behavior, IMO.

it legalized here for awhile, it's got way more support than some RWer's want. The republicans just tried and failed to prohibit citizen initiatives, mostly for that reason. In a fair fight, we would win.

Modern conservatism attracts the black and white types, thus Republicans move in lock step and aren’t very creative outside of ways to screw other people. Dems tend to be far more nuanced. Hate to say it, but it takes far more gray matter to embrace nuance.

By saying 100% liberal is somewhat different. That would require having a lot of compassion and listening to scientists. So is not nearly as bad as being 100% conservative.

Not what it ostensibly means, or did once upon a time.

In America today "conservatism" must be defined by the words and deeds of its political leaders and followers -- Trumpism and everything that goes with it:

Total disregard for truth and decency.
The BIG LIE.
Loyalty to Dear Leader instead of country and Constitution.
Complicity in the violent attack on our nation's Capitol on Jan 6.
A systematic assault on voting rights, on democracy itself.
Whitewashing of American history.
Bigotry in many forms, both blatant and subtle.
Efforts to deny women control over their own bodies.
Thumping the Bible while ignoring so much of what Jesus taught.
Rejection of science regarding the pandemic and global warming.
Opposition to conserving the natural environment which sustains life itself.

I'm sure there are more examples of "conservatism" in action; anybody care to add a few?
