When the full House votes to send the charge of Contempt of Congress to the DOJ, Biden should instruct Garland to fast-track the prosecution, with an emphasis on giving Bannon the same treatment that a common car thief would get: charge his ass criminally, arrest him, perp-walk him, and get a judge to set bail like he was a flight risk.
Biden wants to rally the troops? How about landing an actual punch, for once?

(13,571 posts)Has Garland received any message from the WH or agent of the WH (overt or subtle) that he should slow walk investigations and prosecutions of coup plotters so that Biden can stabilize the economy and tame Covid before the country blows up amid a criminal prosecution of former president and members of Congress (among other actors)?
No one ever seems to ask that question. Has Biden sought a slow walk of adjudication? There may be intelligence suggesting that a bold approach could precipitate the shooting Civil War that threatens.
That would be something deserving great caution.

(11,103 posts)This is a DoJ decision. The White House needs to stay out of the decision. Of course, it seems clear that DoJ ought to be before a grand jury already. If it is not, AG Garland ought to explain the inaction to the American people.
