(12,379 posts)Im aggravated at the coverage of this shooting when people are killed by guns daily. But the next segment was about January 6 and MTG.

(208 posts)Don't hear what you just said much, and I've been mum, but I agree with you. My children are great, love them with all my heart and on most things they are reasonable people, but they are really disinformed and you can't convince them otherwise. But I keep hoping that eventually they'll see they've been swallowing a pack of sh*t.

(208 posts)My "kids" are 45 and 52, but they're kids in my mind. Wouldn't trade them for the world. (But I'd like to change them a little, ha) My younger son recently told me to not send him anymore texts about politics. So I don't.

I guess age is not the determining factor for swallowing misinformation. Started to say, "Will you be my daughter?" but I didn't want to freak you out. I'm glad you posted.

(11,536 posts)You are better off using your computer rather than cable. I cut the cord in 2008 after I realized that I could find the same things online. Now, with streaming services, cable is only good for the bandwidth... and that won't be so for much longer. But, you are so correct in that giving those opportunists any viewer time is silly, as they only go for ratings and whatever gets the most hits is what they will harp on like there is no tomorrow... until the next big 'hit getter' arrives. (As always, one has to take anything from the internet with a pound of salt, but to steal the phrase from 'The X-Files', the truth is out there...)
