(15,325 posts)That's just fundraising & Marketing & as long as your name is in the headlines, for good or bad, grab that moment & cash in!
Appears the trendy fashionable fundraising/marketing is sloganeering on apparall, so go for it Sen Sinema!!
Cash in like the rest of them while your name is stuck in the headlines.

(58,785 posts)was supposed to pass to a Republican, and how could she be worse? Maybe, having finally elected a Democrat, we'll be set up to run a strong primary and GE candidate next time.
Try this for perspective:
My worst "mistake" was Jimmy Carter. I also had no choice in the GE, my defense, but I voted for him serenely even though not believing his "corrupt Democratic Party" in desperate need of reform schtick. Early 20s and clueless, tho, so didn't worry overmuch that he lied about Democrats or that none of his Democratic colleagues would support him. No point to it when he became the nominee.
What really embarrasses me looking back, though, is that I didn't do any real homework and realize Carter was a small-government, low-tax conservative. So basic, and not exactly unknown. His "reform"was really to beat the Republicans to ushering out the New Deal era. So, even though we also gave Democrats both houses of congress, he was constantly fighting their efforts to use the electorates' gift of giant power for what they hoped would be important progressive advances.
Thus, my worst mistake was to help end the New Deal era with a pathetic whimper and failed, single-term presidency. You can't top that with Sinema, believe me.

(1,996 posts)Look, I get it. We're all tired of her holding up President Biden's policies and I along with many of you will gladly take Senator Sinema to task over that. But please, let's stop making fun of how she acts, dresses or looks. It's cheap and well below all of my fellow Dems.
But, even I am not above taking a shot at the tRumpers and GOP. Have at it all you want with them.

(100,133 posts)A lot of us do not like what she is saying with her wardrobe choices. You ever see that ring she was wearing back home? Like her glasses frames, it was big and red and colorful. Unlike her glasses, it literally spelled out the words Fuck You.
Thank you for your input to this deep and serious discussion.

(22,590 posts)Sinema's fashion choices are very deliberate, and the messages they send range from "Look at meeee!" to "Up yours!" to "I really don't care do u?"
Just look at the outfit she wore the day of her thumbs down/curtsy vote. She looked more like a high schooler on the way to her next class than a serious lawmaker, and I don't believe it was an accident that her attire conveyed the same flippant attitude as the gesture (not to mention the vote itself).
Before that incident, I had heard her name but didn't know anything about her. That little display told me she was a self-important phony. If that was a false impression, well, let me know if she ever does anything that points in a different direction.

(1,493 posts)She is never going to get past VP Harris giving a post-inauguration interview to a local Arizona media. Manchin might carry corporate water, but he will try to come to a deal. She has an ego as big as Trump, but may not be as mentally ill as he is. She needs to know people don't forget. There's a reason Kirsten Gillebrand will never got any traction as a presidential candidate. People don't forget when you hurt your own.

(64,371 posts)How anyone shows up at work is important as it affects others' opinions of your professionalism, dedication to the task, etc.
She is there for herself, not the people of Arizona. The circus tent dress and denim vest speak volumes.
