It's been several years now, just wondering where it's stands?
Trump, the Republican party, my relatives, and my co-workers all said at the time that it was all BS, that in the end there would be no convictions, it's all a media circus, it's all fake.
Well, my co-workers brought it up to my face today, that they were right.
I remember listening to it unfold and seriously though some of these characters would be jailed.
Just wondering where we stand on this?

Just my opinion.

(33,643 posts)conspiracy.
People thought a lot of shit people close to Trump pulled was illegal ... that actually really wasn't, because the letter of the law is very weak in this regard.
And a POTUS is allowed to obstruct justice as long as the Congress is overall too corrupt to impeach them.
Same thing is going to happen WRT to the January 6 planners. Weak, ineffectual laws will allow them to slide.
Mark it.

(522 posts)I mentioned this in another thread, When tRump said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and get away with it, my Dad said he is correct!
My dad worked with Rudy Giuliani at White and Case in NYC, he told me many years ago that Trump, Rudy, Tishman, etc are pretty much untouchable.
Lots of cover-ups with the Irish, Russian, Italian Mafias in NYC real estate.
My dad later went on to personally fire Giuliani from the firm.
I don't expect any action from the Southern district of NY either.

(7,286 posts)I'm really glad I read through this thread and came to your post. It's a confirmation of every thought I ever held regarding our Justice System for all my life. I'm over 70 years old, and have feel like I've witnessed all of it first hand.
Despite knowing this generally speaking, I held out hope and tried to scrape together some remnants of tattered faith that our governance system will hold up the basic tenants of justice "for all" ... which was never going to come.
Tragic and heartbreaking, but it is a reality I have to accept and move on knowing we'll never see it.
