from the all the Democratic candidates I might think they are all about to lose in a landslide. It does not inspire me to send money. Sorry to say but I nuke about 99% of them. As soon as I delete one another five pop up.

(11,098 posts)If you are ever inclined to send political money, never do so at your own expense. They will live without it, and certainly have plenty of other donors who will be willing

I hate the gloom and doom emails. They do not impress me, not one bit.

Ww have got to change the system. Here in Hawaii we are so lucky to have two excellent senators but Ill tell you what, theyre better than we deserve.
I really progressive older generation left us a legacy and these people grew up with them. We are no more democratic than the Hong Kong election directed by China, down to the second decimal. (We= US )
Check out Represent.us. They have a good idea bit its one state at a time effort.

(31,237 posts)I give to causes that I personally really care about mostly having to do with animals and the environment. I leave the other for the political insiders to hand out their money to, it's an investment for them which they get a return on.

(96,882 posts)..well, the honest truth is that doom and gloom emails get low dollar donors to contribute. It they didnt, candidates wouldnt send them.

(49,019 posts)would not have to waste time to send gloom and doom fund raising letters. It just takes weekly contact with one person. So much nicer.

(17,747 posts)If you get on one email list, youre on a gazillion. Its very obvious they sell and/or share. I get a ton and never read any of them.
I support candidates who are action oriented and I dont make that decision based on emails.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
