2. Just what I saw in the tweet. When I clicked on it.

10. I wouldn't count on it...

He's not going to say "I won't support it unless it checks out fiscally, which it doesn't," and then decide it does after all. What his "posturing" means is that there's going to have to be another "compromise" (i.e. giving up another key part of the bill) before he grudgingly declares that "now, it's satisfactory" and supports it.

It’s obvious that the progressives have caved to Manchin, but with that said, the BBB will still pass at the 1.75 trillion amount.

...the framing is going to be really crucial, in order to avoid the ACA dilemma, where the bill finally passed, but enough of the focus became on "what it didn't accomplish after all" (i.e. public option), rather than what it actually achieved.

13. The "progressives" may have played it right.

They started off with a huge amount in the bill. Yeah, it was paid for, but it was still a huge amount. They knew it would get resistance. They started off high, and expected to come down quite a bit with a compromise that still is hefty and lays the groundwork for further improvements.

Compromise always has this kind of playbook.

16. I keep thinking back to when......

PRESIDENT OBAMA took office and had to fight the disaster that 'W' had left with the economy. The PRESIDENT and the Dems had a plan but there was not a strong enough majority to get it passed and we settled for about 1/2 of what it 'could'a/should'a' been.

So, when it passed and began to have an effect on saving the nation's economy, of course the Repukes claimed that 'their' compromise is what helped 'save America' - and then they began complaining that the plan wasn't as 'strong' as it should have been.

Well, it's looking like we're gonna' see the same game plan again: The Repukes will run out and claim how THEY were the 'fiscally responsible ones' and that THEY helped save America again, while we're getting a 'part' of the package that really would have make a big mark in making life better in America.
