The insidious aspect of all this is that since it's a messaging service not social media, where there's no persistent, visible postings - there's absolutely zero oversight or moderation, none whatsoever. A channel admin can say literally whatever they wish to their followers and nobody can block, edit, delete or even fact-check it; in addition since it's encrypted, nobody who's not part of a channel can see what's being said.
