(5,113 posts)and the truth has to be told.
if you're not a hard core democrat youve seen the dems do basically squat in almost a year. point the finger anywhere you want but its results that matter and teh dems basically have none to show

(23,740 posts)luckily this was only a governorship and not a House of Congress.
Next year we won't get off so easy if we let this warning sign pass unnoticed.

(4,392 posts)Dont know how things work blaming Democrats to fix and pass stuff when their margins are very slim in both houses and where in the senate Republicans can block everything with the assistance of a couple of Democrats

(5,113 posts)dumb or not they voted. the GOP has figured out how to appeal to dumb. and the dems just sit idly by twiddiling their thumbs

(4,392 posts)I am calling the ones who would normally vote for the Democrats dumb because as you pointed out in your OP, they think that they arent doing anything .instead of paying attention and realizing they need to hold Republicans accountable for the obstruction by sending a message that their obstruction wont be tolerated one way that message is sent out by voting overwhelmingly Democratic in whatever election you can vote in ..now if the message is sent and these voters give the Democrats and overwhelming majority in the senate and house and things still arent getting done, then I would agree with your OP

(5,058 posts)I don't disagree with their premise but there are things we can talk about and get them to vote for us that trumps their racism inside. Biden won those suburban votes and we lost them in VA today. It's not as unreachable as some make it out to be. We at least have to stop yelling racist/dumb/stupid/immortal and try to find ways to connect to some of those voters. They are reachable.

(4,392 posts)I disagree with the premise that Youngkin somehow flipped suburban voters I think its more the case that the suburban voters that came out for Trump in 2020 came out this election, while a lot of the ones that voted for Biden just didnt vote .so when you see that a suburban county went to mccauliffe 55-45, while going to Biden 60-40 the media is going to jump and say Youngkin cut into the margins by flipping votes when he cut into margins by voters staying home

(53 posts)With the American Rescue Plan and availability of covid shots. Dems should be bragging about how the ARP saved people, housed the homeless, prevented many evictions, increased unemployment compensation, gave PPP to businesses.

(5,058 posts)But the problem is accompanied by a senate that's 50/50. I am sure we can pass more bills if we had the 53/47 senate like Trump did. The two holdouts wouldn't be a problem if we had a 53 majority.

(34,286 posts)The point is NOBODY could do a god damn thing if two of your elected officials decide they will sell out and they will fuck your party and country.
NOTHING can change that.
Now if you want to get better overall management to change the future, I am all on board with that.
Personally I think it is too late, the fascist is going to take over.

(55,379 posts)We hide from them because they give Republicans a target.
We need to do more than fundraise by mail and email. It is not all about money. It is about county parties and how in touch they are with voters and promoting our issues to voters, Democrat and Independent. Some of our state parties are doing well by closer contact with county party HQ. Yet the DNC's focus is on fundraising, from what I see anyway. Jaime Harrison is a prolific fundraiser. But he's not in office. I wonder if we need to turn to our state party apparatus for fresh ideas.
