and one of my favorites is the Ocean Spray cranberry juice with lime and a big pour of cherry-flavored vodka. 360 Vodka is a local distillery here that has a good cherry vodka.

for you!!! Sounds so much like lost of taste with covid. But you make it sound like it's been a long time since this started happening.

Hope this isn't too sad a story for you but my 24 yo niece ( masked up and vaccinated got covid). She told me that she has always disliked coffee. But wanted so bad to like it and drink it like everyone else. So when she had covid and lost her taste she drank it three times a day. And it worked -- she's over covid, got her smell and taste back, and now likes coffee

I would counsel you to try at least one. Possibly two. And then report back. Personally speaking, I think Gin makes a better Bloody mix than Vodka. Your tastes may vary, however.

The first time I ever had a BM made with gin was at an Argentinian restaurant. I got there before the people I was meeting, so went to the bar. It was on the menu, never seen it before, so tried it and it was great. I've made it with both at home, it's definitely under-appreciated.

the herbal notes in the gin go well with the tomatoes in the bloody Mary mix.

But then, I drink Trader Joe's Bloody Mary mix straight, maybe diluted with a little water.

Tall tumblar, 3 ice cubes.

1.5-2.0 Gin (Bombay is good) 3 parts V-8, 1 part favorite mix. Add liberal dashes of L&P, lime juice. Some celery /onion/ garlic salt (a shake or 2). Stir - enjoy.

of my list of suspects. I’ll allow any Monty Python joke at my expense, however.

Off topic…but speaking of the name Hugh…my 16 year old son joined the NextDoor app for my neighborhood with the name Hugh Janus. So far he has not been removed by the admins…I can hardly read his posts without having a full blown asthma attack from laughing. Its like people know but they’re afraid to say anything. It’s so damned funny.
