8. We're trying to build, they are trying to defend. The latter is easier to stay engaged

They keep their base fired up by making them think their beliefs are under attack.

'defending gun rights', 'defense of marriage', 'defending traditional values' etc etc

They get their base to believe it is fight or surrender, which keeps them going all the time

Most of what we are trying to do is fix problems or making things better, which doesn't have that 'back against the wall' mentality.

6. I live in Georgia, where the election season never ends. 🗳 🍑 🇺🇸

To kick things off as Georgia politics heated up and gained national interest, we had the hard fought and controversial 2016 gubernatorial race between Stacy Abrams and Brian Kemp, in which, then Georgia Secretary of State, KKKEMP purged, suppressed, and disenfranchised over 500,000 black and minority voters while he supervised his own election to state office.

Still reeling from the illegal machinations of KKKemp and the Georgia GOP, we held state and local primaries in 2020. Stacy Abrams and her organizations; Fair Fight Georgia and Fair Count Georgia, led us into the political battle of a lifetime.

The runup to Election Day in November 2020 was epic and unrelenting, culminating in a win for Joe Biden and Democratic Senate candidate Jon Ossoff.

We then held local runoffs in early December 2020, in which the first Latina DA in Georgia, Athens, GA Democrat Deborah Gonzalez, was elected!

But, it wasn’t over yet, and there was no rest for the weary, because Warnock and Loeffler were headed to an historic January 5, 2021 Senate runoff!

Finally the January 5, 2021 runoff for statewide offices and for the US Senate race between Reverend Raphael Warnock and Kelly Loeffler was held and Reverend Warnock was announced as the winner on January 6, only to have the celebration of his historic win overshadowed by the events of the Insurrection on January 6, 2021.

Ossoff and Warnock were not sworn into office until Inauguration Day in DC. New VP Kamala Harris swore them and the new CA Senator into office, as her first official act as VP.

Yesterday, we held local city and county elections across Georgia, including the Atlanta mayors race, which is going to a runoff...so the election is not over yet!

Of course, we’re gearing up to hold the 2022 primaries and general election for Governor and all statewide constitutional offices including Lt.Gov, Secretary of State, Attorney General and Labor Commissioner. I’m sure there will be a runoff.

(Yesterday, I voted for a 1 cent education SPLOST in my county.)

Now, Georgia Democrats await Stacy Abrams’ announcement that she will run for Governor in 2022. (The suspense is killing me.)

There is so much work to be done, because Senator Reverend Warnock is also up for re-election in 2022, because he was elected to fill former Senator Isakson’s (R-GA) unexpired term.

I’m ready to work to GOTV for all of our 2022 GA Democratic candidates! 🗳🍑🇺🇸
