A very long time ago I decided to only be friends (along with the usual attraction of like interests, good personality mix etc) with non racist, or the least racist (so I could talk with them about it).
So I haven't had these more intense conversations.
I do know what I probably would say depending on what the person said.

Maybe that's part of what I need to do here and there.

It's like the NE Pennsyvlanians who voted for Obama then switched to Trump. They were all lazily chalked up as flaming racists which is total bullshit -- it was the economy. As far as Virginia, I'm guessing it was a combination of COVID and CRT but I want to hear from them.
