Congresswoman Jayapal sounding like a broken record...

I get the impression she has bet the farm on childcare costs... Stephanie Ruhle tried to convince her this morning, that voters vote on how they feel today, not on what they think might happen next week or month.

The pundits are saying the yet to be finalized BBB proposal, led to yesterday's election results and is an indicator of election results to come. Jayapal doesn't agree with the prognostication. Biden might not either, publicly, but I'd bet he knows better.

Ruhle teed it up, and Jayapal dodged the question. Unless we can blame inflation on something or someone else, we're going to get clobbered. It's going to be easy for Repubs to blame it on spending, and unless we start with an effective message TODAY, we're going to lose this battle long before it's fought in earnest next year.

I think so too.

But I still think that wasn't the only factor. IMO the voting suppression legislation (430 laws?) is like having this thousand ton boulder on every Dem's shoulders. That simply must be dealt with. The second it is, I think it will revitalize and reenergize the entire party. Wallets will open, money will flow, hope will happen again, our intensity will triple overnight. Secondly, there have to be consequences for the GOP efforts to overthrow our form of government. Not too many pundits are addressing this, but to me it's so obvious it's hard to overstate. I recognize that is not in Biden's hands. But the FBI needs to move.

..to consider. But Ruhle also reminded us that voters have short term memory. Biden said "we will do...something" and the something hasn't evolved. Voters also want immediate gratification which hasn't occurred.

In hindsight, the Dems should have taken what was initially available for the taking, and tried for bigger stuff later.

I fear the Jan 6 stuff will come too late, if at all.

“ Those who have the most power - whether famous TV anchors, rich Hollywood moguls, judges, Members of Congress, or the president of the United States - must decide how to exert that power: for corruption or for good.” — Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-WA

BTW: Stephanie Ruhle defended then-Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy’s son, Justin, who seems to have had a role in approving loans to deadbeat Donald Trump at Deutsche Bank and LNR Partners.

they have the right message, but the public that hears the message isn't sure at all.

Because of odd factors like redistricting and underpopulated states still having two Senatorial votes, we have a majority of unknown size that hates Republicans, but we have no voice. The real job of Democrats is to reclaim that voice.

Disappointed with some many Dems and Dem appointees(not kidding) I'm gonna stay away from politics starting later.....today.

Somebody else posted Rachel Maddow's point of view...ebb and flow politics. I didn't read it all but she probably mentioned the historical statistic that people generally vote against the party in The White House. And some are saying McCauliffe just campaigned on the wrong talking points.

More people are concerned over the price of gasoline than Trump trying to overthrow the government...and that's not intended as sarcasm.
