(34,857 posts)One good example is Buffalo. A Democratic Socialist won her primary over the incumbent Democratic mayor (good on her, it was a shocking win) and he ran as a write-in candidate and won pretty easily yesterday.
In Minneapolis, Jacob Frey won reelection as mayor despite a campaign by the left to oust him due a lot of issues revolving out of George Floyd's murder. If you remember, and maybe you don't, he was booed at a Floyd protest in the summer of 2020.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
