to compensate for inflation could be proposed? For working class and poor people, structured so it can be an immediate payment. Really just more checks sent out, but it needs to be called a tax break, and paid for by the wealthy.

The federal and state tax brackets are already adjusted for inflation every year nt

I buy ten shares of stock for $100 per share. When I get around to selling them, let's say things that used to cost 1 unit now cost 1.50 units, due to inflation. I sell the stock for $140 per share.
Thanks to indexing, I've lost money on the stock. I have a capital loss, not a capital gain.
