This is a big story and continuing to develop given his influence on so many.
I am not even an NFL fan, but I know how serious his idiotic stance is to kids, teens, and adult fans that will listen to him.
Your best bet is to go into your account tab, click on "trash can" and select several keywords to hide. This is the very reason Elad programmed this function so I'd take advantage of it, if this really bothers you.

(113,971 posts)That is clearly GD territory just as when we discuss any other public figure making consequential statements that impact our response.
If we were merely talking about him as a sports celebrity, I'd agree--sports or lounge or elsewhere. But that isn't the key issue in these posts.

(51,308 posts)I personally dont give a rats ass about these sport celebrities but there does seem to be some picking and choosing on who gets the ire of DU. Smh.
hlthe2b
(113,971 posts)I merely point out that these posts are within the DU guidelines for GD content. Elad thankfully provided a solution if those bothered will only use it.

(51,308 posts)I find some of the posts on these threads kind of amusing. One DUer even finds Rodgers intelligent. Others scramble to explain how they never liked him EVAH, despite wanting him to host Jeopardy. Quite funny to read.
But there were not nearly as many threads about LeBron and Kyrie. I dont think I saw even one about Cam Newton, and he was quite vocal about his vaccine idiocy.

Here's a good start:

(8,249 posts)Are you aware of his outspoken positions regarding BLM, kneeling NFL players and social justice issues after the Jacob Blake shooting? He is also part owner of the Milwaukee Bucks the first NBA team to boycott a game after the shooting and he supported them 100% . He was hated by Trumpers for that
I agree his position on the vax is wrong and even though I have never been a huge fan of his for things he has done regarding the team, I dont think he is a POS.
His GM this off season described him perfectly: he is a complicated guy
boston bean
(36,931 posts)So, yeah. He is a major POS.
GusBob
(8,249 posts)I must also ask, with all due respect, are you aware that as an NFL player that chose not to be vaccinated, which the NFL does allow, that he has been tested every day of the season for COVID?
He has also tested negative since his positive
He may have caught the vid from his receivers Davante Adams and MVS who tested positive and were sidelined last week. Would you claim those young men also dont seem to care about the people around them?

(36,931 posts)If they werent vaxed either and lied about being immunized, yes they are POS as well. If they were vaxed I feel differently.
GusBob
(8,249 posts)It was Lazard and he was not vaxxed, and may have given it to his fellow receiver Adams
They tested positive and were in quarantine protocol at the same time.

(30,058 posts)I remember them saying he might be able to report back early if he had 2 negatives in 4 days or something like that. This is only allowed if they are vaxxed.
GusBob
(8,249 posts)He may very well have infected Adams
Not a big deal I guess nobody raged about it

(30,058 posts)With Lazard also getting a fine.
I knew man Adams would be vaxxed. He's a responsible person who cares about his team.
Prof. Toru Tanaka
(2,926 posts)But the bottom line is he lied about his vax status and he endangered others.
He deserves to be suspended and he will be. How long remains to be seen.
No way Roger Goodell is going to let this slide.
GusBob
(8,249 posts)The NFL cant suspend him

Growing up a Baltimore Colt fan, I thought Unitas was the all-time best QB. Later, I switched my GOAT QB vote to Joe Montana.

(8,249 posts)Starr was a better QB as a field general type
What I mean is JU made plays happen on the field from his athletic ability and guts
Starr made them happen in the huddle. For example, he called all the plays of the winning drive of the Ice Bowl.
For all his legend Lombardi as a coach during a game was mostly a cheerleader. Starr called the shots

Turns another Idol has clay feet. Shocking.
Hes still one hell of a qb and just like Farve the NFL will keep him around as long as possible. Im sure NFL knew he isnt vaxed.
