A judge Monday ruled that prosecutors can refer to accusers of Ghislaine Maxwell as “victims” at the British socialite’s upcoming trial in New York on charges of procuring underage girls to be sexually abused by mysterious money man Jeffrey Epstein.

Manhattan federal court Judge Alison Nathan, citing the need to protect Maxwell’s accusers from embarrassment, also ruled during a hearing that those women can have their identities kept anonymous during the trial.

Maxwell’s lawyers had wanted prosecutors barred from using the word “victim” and “minor” to describe the accusers, and also had wanted them identified during the trial with their real names.

Defense lawyers also lost their bid to be allowed to suggest at trial that prosecutors only filed charges against Maxwell because of press coverage about Epstein and his alleged misdeeds with her.

It’s surfaced in the Rittenhouse case in Kenosha, WI, and now in the NY case. Is this a Republican maneuver to slightly alter public opinion as to the outcome of a case? Or option two, which is totally viable, am I off my fricking rocker?

It's routine in trials where part of the legal case to be made is to prove that someone is, in fact, a victim. If you start off calling them a victim you've jumped right to the conclusion without providing any evidence to support the conclusion.

It's like if you were accused of robbing a bank. Prosecutors couldn't start off calling you "a robber" or "the robber" or "a criminal" before they offered any evidence to support their case that you were, in fact, the robber & committed a crime.

It's been this way for a long time, it's just something that doesn't normally get reported. It seems like the media has realized that they get more clicks (& thus more advertising revenue) when they stir up anger, so they're now reporting on this totally normal routine thing that's been happening in courtrooms for years, because they realize it stirs up anger.

I'm surprised. Hmmm, seems she's smarter than Epstein. He lasted less than 2 months in prison.

Epstein knew he was never going to have his life back, that the lawyers and lawsuits, and prosecutions and sentences were going to break him.

“I've known Jeff (Epstein) for 15 years. Terrific guy,'' Trump told New York Magazine back in 2002. "He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it - Jeffrey enjoys his social life."

There are many pictures of Trump with Maxwell

Eric started a meme that Bill Clinton was seen in the same bldg as Maxwell.

He deleted it when many pictures showed up with his daddy and Maxwell.
