Probably an interesting discussion but OR-GOV appears to be safe at this point.

(16,344 posts)As an oregonian, hes seen as an outsider.
His having worked for the NYT may work in the metro area but will fall flat anywhere else.
His best bet is to promise solutions to the homeless situation in the metro area. Thatd win him the governorship. No one is addressing it fast enough and the situation is getting much much worse.
Also, Oregon is starting to see tons of stolen vehicles each day. The two (homelessness and stolen cars) are not necessarily connected. We have an in increase in drug use that seems to be driving it. I think we are close to #1 right now for stolen cars.
Metro area wins the governorship. Period.

From wiki:
ristof was raised in the rural community of Yamhill, Oregon, the son of two professors at Portland State University.

He has good roots, for sure.

(39,346 posts)What do you mean, "OR-GOV appears to be safe"? I thought Brown wouldn't be running again if Kristoff is throwing his hat in the ring.
