It's a tried and true method of spreading disinfo and conspiracy theories. A lot of people (even on the left) are quite capable of playing this game, convincing themselves they are "Just Asking Questions", and denying their own prejudices and agendas and irrational beliefs are the real motivation.

Of course Tucker Carlson and his ilk know exactly the dishonest game they're playing.
